Hi, All:
I just received the NOA for my I751 - one year extension of GC. I'm just wondering if anybody has traveled outside US before they get approved with an expired GC and a NOA. Is the NOA enough (together with the expired GC) for traveling outside the country?
Thanks.
Ok. I have a question, guys.
Since the OP was talking about first time travel, you indeed has a I-94 before you leave US if it was not collected at the interview. Then you can hand out the I-94 before departure and therefore the USCIS may have a record of the date on which you leave the...
At the end of the interview, I did ask about the name check. The officer told me that both my name check and background check are cleared. She also mentioned that if a name is too common, it may take much longer to get through. I guess it makes sense because the more common a name is, the...

Left 2nd floor waiting room around 7:50 AM.
Called for interview around 8:05 AM.
The interview started with some general questions for me, such as birthday, birth place, last entry date...
Hi, Everyone:
As the interview is approaching, I have started to prepare some documents. I have a quick question: My wife is US citizen but she was not born here in the US. Is her birth certificate required at the interview or just her passport and naturalization certificate are enough...
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I called them today and your info is confirmed - re-submission! And apparently this is an almost hopeless process according to some people since this is not an usual operation for USCIS :( I am giving up.
I just received the AP document (I-512L) today which is a good thing. However, the picture on each of the document is my wife's picture instead of mine!! I think I read the same thing happened to somebody here before but I can't seem to find the thread any more. Does anybody know what I should...
I just received the interview notice letter today, which is kinda a surprise (check my timeline). However, my wife and I have already booked everything for our trip back to our homecountry, including wedding and honeymoon. It's really a big mass if we try to reschedule the trip. Therefore, we...
Just got my biometrics done today. Before I left, the lady who did my biometrics said I should recieve something in the mail soon. Does anybody know what that is suppoed to be?
Got the receipt numbers last week and went online to see if my case status is there. Got this message: Validation Error(s). Looks like my case is not in their system yet. Did this happen to any of you? If yes, how did you solve the problem? Shall I just give it another week or so to check again...
Re:
From the replies I guess what is important here is what USCIS considers as "bonafide emergency". For us, yes! - we paid more than $2k for air tickets and everything has been arranged for our travel abroad. But you never know what they are gonna tell you. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions...
Hi, All:
I am a newbie here :) and very glad to know this place exists. A lot of information here is so valuable. Thanks to the people who have done so much to help others.
I just sent out my package (I-130, I-485, I-131 all together) last Friday so my journey of getting the GC starts...
