Got mine in March, as well. Only 2 travel stamps in my passport for the last 3 years, went abroad for 12 days (Europe). At O'Hare officer looked at my passport and GC, asked to press four fingers to that scanner and said with tired quiet voice: "welcome home...". I will remember this.
Well, that's exactly right and I intentionally stayed with them for another 5 months after GC even though I was seriously under payed, just to prove my intention to work for them...
Well, technically it's hardly a fraud. It would be a fraud if it can be proved company had no ability to pay and had no intention to do so. Them are smart guys and they explained it to me like 'due to bad economic situation and _current_ financial situation with the company' blah-blah...
I am quitting my bodyshop after 5 months on GC. Before that I worked for them for 2 years, and if any questions come up at future citizenship interview, I am going to explain I quit because they refused to give me prevailing wage I was promised to get upon receiving GC.
Do you think this excuse...
May be it does not 'put it to rest', but it is a strong argument in favor of one's opinion, while your funny message seems completely irrelevant to me. Am I wrong?
If you have been laid off I beleive there is nothing for you to be worried about.
It's not your fault, you are obviously (aren't you? ;) willing to work for him permanently and it's his fault that he cannot afford your service any more.
Just adding my 2 cents:
my situation is different, one...
