There's nothing to worry about: the "MSC" refers to the National Benefits Center, which originally started out as as the Missouri Service Center (MSC). Since the application is initially processed at the NBC before being passed on, the receipt number starts off with MSC.

There's a 1-800 number you can phone to order transcripts and statements of your tax account. (I believe the number is 1-800–829–1040 .)
The system is automated: you only need enter your SSN (or your husband/wife's SSN if you filed jointly and they are the head of household)...
