You will also need to weigh the impact of switching to EAD on your family and its status....What I am not sure of in such cases is...Lets say you are married(not sure) and your spouse is on EAD too...You switching to an EAD status will make her H4 invalid.Now if she has an EAD , is it necessary...
Yes you can.INS sends you a letter which has an option of rescheduling.You would however need to respond to INS in time.Am not too sure as to what happens if you miss your appointments for finger prints(but they dealy such cases)

In case as you described, I dont mind losing my L1A status if I have to run a business parallely.I am, however,not comfortable in letting my employer know that I am doing my own business side-by-side.

what in this case if user71 were to be on a visa.lets say L1A visa.Is he still allowed to open a company on EAD and work on L1A with his current sponsor?
