It is possible that they haven't checked the system to see what the FBI results are. That is what happenned to me. I had my intreview on the 10th and the officer said the FBI name check wasn't complete. Yesterday my online status changed to approved and it said they were mailing the card soon...
Great news!
I just checked the status of my application online and it looks like the 485 was approved yesterday! I should get my green card in a few days. So it looks like the officer was right - they just needed to check the system for an update! Yay!
I am in the same situation. The officer took my I-94 but didn't stamp my passport because I am awaiting the FBI name check. I asked him how I would travel without the I-94 and he said it should be no problem, just take the interview letter (which he stamped with the date to prove that we...
You must contact the court and get the documents for it. They should have a disposition record or master record and if they do not have anything you need a letter from them saying they do not have a record. Make sure whatever documents you get from them have the seal of the court on it or are...
Background check and the fbi name check are two different things. All in all they do three types of checks: one is the fingerprint check (I think they run your fingerprints through a system to see if it shows a previous arrest or something), two is a background check (kind of like they do at...
Hartford DO
I overheard a security guard saying how the Hartford DO recently speeded things up a lot (in the last two months which is why the secuirty lines are so long) so maybe its reputation for being slow will change soon :)
I just got back from my interview in Hartford this morning. Overall it went smoothly. The security line to get in was long (they only open doors at 7:30 and we were there by 7:40) but we made it on time and had to wait only 10-15 minutes before they called us. The officer asked us to take the...
Thanks!
Thanks for your wishes yahayajp! I am really excited that the time is almost here. And a little nervous too but I think that is just because this is such a big deal! Quick question for you - I think I read somewhere that they do not allow cellphones inside the DO? Is that correct? But...
If you don't have the original W2s take copies but also try and get the official IRS tax transcripts. See here: http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=110571,00.html
Please look at this other thread where many of us Hartford CT folks have posted their timelines:

Sorry for the late reply Payala, I just saw this.
Yes I did apply for my EAD along with the 485, 130, and AP. A couple of days after my fingerprinting appointment in Hartford the EAD was approved.
Good luck
Hi dip92 and yahayajp,
Good luck on your upcoming interviews! Please post your experiences when you are done with your interviews - mine is on the 9th of February.
Good luck!

ari4u or situn - On the I-94 form, I believe there's a question for a) type of visa and b) Place where visa issued? Any idea on what I would fill out for these questions if I'm travelling on AP? I left both blank when I entered the country a week ago and the officer said that was fine.
