I have nothing. No rejection notice. Nothing, no news. Being on the wait list is an assumption the lawyer made.

Now the lawyer suggests my case is probably on the "waiting list" (reserve pool for cases that will not pass later on). Does that sound plausible?

That's also the way I see it. It's OK not to get selected with my 50:50 chance (more like 1 in 3). However, it's not OK if the lawyers screwed up something despite all my stress and efforts.
