I do plan to take vacation and think that should be OK. If asked, I'm not hiding but might go for a trip for a week or so. Nothing wrong with that, right?
I've not filed my personal/business taxes as well. Got an extension. Although I shall surely complete it this month, I was not assuming that it will have any bearing on the interview. Getting an extension is a normal process. Never been late (or overdue) on any payments ever. However does it...
You really think they'll deny your application for sending it a few days early? Do keep us posted what they tell you when you visit the local office. Another thing to check is what is the approval date on your physical card. Mine said 6/25 but I received it in mid-Aug. I sent my N400 on 1st...
Thanks for the number. I just called FBI and confirmed that my (and wife's) FPs were sent back the same day to USCIS. Now the wait for interview status change and letter begins :)
I did the FP (walk-in) today as well in my local office. Hopefully we see the online status change to interview and receive the interview letters soon.
I checked online (since I already had an account) the moment I received the email with case numbers and the information was available online. I would say go for it today. Nothing wrong in doing that and checking it out.
Went to the local service center and got done with the fingerprinting this morning. Early walk-in experience was quite pleasant. Hoping this helps out in speeding the process. Updated the signature below. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Thanks...makes a lot of sense. I work for myself and will therefore keep my "employer" informed very well :) But jokes aside, I shall surely update the SSN office now...based on the above information. I hope most folks do that as well.
What is the benefit for getting the new (updated) card. I've never changed my SSN card since I was a student, when it must've had these restrictions as well. Any benefit in changing after citizenship? No one ever asks to see it. Just wondering if I am missing something.
About an hour away for me..so not close. However, big question is whether they will let me in at an earlier date or what reason should I give them for early date.
browngirl:
How was the early FP experience? Any issue with it as in, what reason did you give for going early? I want to as well since I plan to be out the day they've scheduled my FP. Wondering what day/time to go and to best approach the early visit.

What reason did you give for the early walk-in? Did they care that you came early? Asking since I might be traveling on my scheduled dated and thinking about going early. Any particular day/time you went to avoid rush?
