There are several threads that mention about this. Search for FBI name check. There is an email address you mail to with some reqd. information. It takes 3-5 months to get a response back!

Do you have the receipt copy of your 140 filing? You can show the copy of 140 receipt and the internet status showing approval to your new attorney. The 140 receipt and the internet status will show the LIN numbers. You dont have to show 140 receipt at all for filing AC21. You can do the above...

Since visa numbers are not available for EB3, USCIS might wait till it becomes current and then send you biometrics, IMO.

His 485 RD is much before NSC's current 485 processing dates of Feb 04. Hence his anxiety, which is understandable. :p

Anildel, Country doesnt matter for EB2. Visa numbers are still available and what was told to you by USCIS is not true. You got to start in believing that EB2 is not retrogressed! :rolleyes:

From what I've heard from others here, No. Name check is needed to get to Biometrics. Can someone else give their feedback on this?

I emailed FBI sometime in mid October(04), and got a reply in December saying name check was complete. It takes 4-5 months now a days.

Maybe the rules changed. If you heard it from German embassy, then relax. Dont worry!

I dont think they will really do anything as they are processing 485 cases in Feb 04, they have a safety net in saying that. Did you email FBI to see if your name check is cleared?
