Wrote a letter to FL last week. I was salivating that suddenly an approval email
pops up this month ( but i haven't seen many reporting approvals for cases filed
in 2006 )

Yes, but it could be erratic
My attorney made a query and didn't get response within 45 days. Then made another one and got reply for that within 20 days. After a few days the response to first query came !. So, the first one took 2 months.
May be you will get approved this month ..

How to know whether in FBI namecheck or in USCIS background check ?
Upon query USCIS says "the processing of this case cannot proceed because of background checks pending".

I am trying to digest how USCIS could approve tons of applications in June
and they didn't know about the trend in June when they possibly advised DOS about July visa number availability .
Is it that suddenly FBI cleared a ton of applications in June ?
Or, is it that the USCIS...
Yesterday i got FOIPA request response from FBI ( turn around time 1 month ) with 'No Records' response. I know that doesn't mean much , still i plan to send FL a letter with copy of that ( somebody said it worked for them - but i am quite skeptical , but not much effort to follow these...
Congrats! Just for statistical purpose . Are you from India ? I have a friend from India who also applied for I-485 in 2004. He is stuck in security check.
