Still waiting for result of N-400 Naturalization after 6 months

They are supposed to make a decision within 120 days after the interview. If they don't, you have the right to file a 1447(b) lawsuit, which would get the court to force them to make a decision soon (or the court itself may decide your case, if you request). Make an Infopass appointment to...

"So help me God" - modified oath

If separation of church and state is your concern, the modified oath will do nothing to help there. It would be more effective if you would just got citizenship as soon as you can with the regular oath (remaining silent if you want for the "God" part), then use your rights a citizen to protest...

N400 denied. Received N-336. What are our options?

But it's not the end of everything, as one can still reapply.

    Can I vote? Derivative Citizenship?

Custody is just one example of a potentially disqualifying issue. Before you vote or register to vote without having a US passport or citizenship certificate, make sure you understand ALL the conditions and exceptions and requirements for derivative citizenship.

    N400 based on marriage questions

The process is different because you'll have to provide documentation of the ongoing health of your marriage and answer questions about it, but after you become a citizen your citizenship your citizenship will be just like that of any other naturalized citizen. No, once you're a citizen the...

    N400 Error

If your own A number was incorrect that could be a big problem, but you can sort out those other discrepancies at the interview. Remember to bring your birth certificate, your daughter's birth certificate, and a copy of her green card because the interviewer may ask for those documents as part...

My mom is sponsor for AOS. Does she have to sign AOS in USA?

At this point of the process she is supposed to be residing in the US. The purpose of family-based green cards is to join family members who live in the US.

    Life on the high Seas

The physical presence requirement is based on the days present in the US only during the 5 years prior to the filing date (i.e. the date USCIS receives the application), and during that time you must have at least 913 days in the US.

    N400 question about detention

I don't think that counts as "Arrested, Cited and or Detained". But during the green card process there would have been a question about having been refused entry to the US. She should have answered YES to that, otherwise she could have a problem if they review her green card paperwork and...

Applying for I-131 while I-751 is pending

You mean reentry permit? Yes, you can apply for it while the I-751 is pending. And you NEED to apply for it if you plan to stay outside the US for more than 12 consecutive months.

    Life on the high Seas

You spent 197 consecutive days outside the US? Or 197 days total in a year? Or 197 days total over the whole 5-year window?

N 400 process taking too long

It's 7.5 months from filing to oath. But that is an AVERAGE, not a maximum. So half the people will take longer than that time, half less than that. You're only at the 5 month mark now, so it's too early to get concerned.

Question about OAth cermony questions (Jackolantern rsp requested)

At this point, with the DUI being over 10 years ago, and the fact that you already gave them the court docs and were recommended for approval, they're almost certainly not going to care about those additional details. Sit back, relax, and look for your oath letter in the mail.

I-140, I-485 and change of employer

Once your GC is approved the former employer can't revoke it. But before the GC is approved, you need an approved I-140 and the I-485 to be pending for 180 days in order to get Ac21 portability protection. Apparently you don't even have the I-485 receipt yet, and haven't gone for...

    Can I vote? Derivative Citizenship?

The Child Citizenship Act has various conditions, and sometimes it turns out that people who thought they were citizens really aren't. For example, although they were living physically with one parent who naturalized after the divorced, the wording of the divorce papers placed legal custody...

HOW DOES THE EARLY FILING (90 DAYS BEFORE GC ANNIVERSARY) WORK?

Don't apply exactly on the 90 day mark; wait a few extra days, becomes sometimes USCIS miscounts by a day or two and they have (wrongfully) rejected applicants before the interview for applying too early even though they rightfully applied on or after the 90-day cutoff.

HOW DOES THE EARLY FILING (90 DAYS BEFORE GC ANNIVERSARY) WORK?

You can apply 90 days before the GC anniversary, and the processing of your application including the interview can take place during the 90 day early period, but you cannot complete the oath and become a US citizen until your GC anniversary of 5/5/2015.

Why were you cited (part 11 item 29)- how detailed should I go?

Above is way too much information. All you need is one sentence to say what you were charged with and what the outcome of the case was, and include the court paperwork along with the application. Yes, that is much better. Note that USCIS may treat dismissed cases as convictions if the court...

    Citizenship for child

If her husband is listed as the father on the birth certificate, you'll have to get it changed before proceeding with a claim of US citizenship for the child. And you'll also have to check that the other requirements for acquiring US citizenship at birth have been met. Having a US citizen...
