Just to clarify a small thing here: There is no set date when USCIS stops adjudicating the pending cases. Its not End of July nor is it Aug 17th.
They are going to adjudicate all cases for which they requested and assigned visa numbers no matter how soon or late it happens. As it stands now...

PD/RD/ND/TD/LUDs...Once we get the GC in hand, none of these 'Ds will mean anything to us...we may even forget these acronyms in a few years :)
Friday's are usually slow. But I saw only a couple of approvals yesterday also so maybe this is it.
At least we can resume enjoying summer and forget about GC for a few months.

No. A GC cannot be awarded to someone else. Sorry to disappoint you but your death will be in vain. Besides, who amongst us would care about a GC in 2030?

Please stop whining and writing about your depressions and frustrations in every post. You guys are not adding anything useful to the conversation. We all know how much "life sucks" and how much "tensioning" you guys are going through but its time to vent it...
I read somewhere that initial receipt of application is handled by a different team of people who are separate from the IOs who adjudicate cases.
The most likely scenario is that this flood of new applications will be processed by the "initial receipt" team and then stowed away to be picked up...
