ur friend is absolutely wrong. Applying for dv lottery does not show immigrant intent and applying for dv lottery does not mean that you've applied for an immgrant visa in the past. I've always applied for dv lottery and i never had problems with getting a non-immigant visa.

USCIS officers do whatever they want as They don't have a clear policy. A few people like me applied 2 months early and never had any problem. Am glad that you did get the visa thou but its just sad that u had to spend all that money again.

those documents can be fedex'ed to ya and u can get it in 3 days. maybe ur sponsor can atleast scan copies to ya so to that u can have somethin to show while u wait 4 the original.
