    Traffic Violations & Naturalization

Probably not. They will most likely ask you to bring proofs during citizenship interview. I answered no because I didn't have proofs of having paid for tickets pertaining to double parking and making a left on "no left" signal.

    Traffic Violations & Naturalization

I answered "No" and I was fine with it. Same with my father. In most cases, they don't care about traffic tickets with fines less than $500. My dad had a speeding ticket of over $1000.

N 400 process taking too long

That's the downside of living in bigger cities, it appears, ndubs. After my interview, I've been placed on oath scheduling que and over the past 11 days or so, I bet I've checked my email/case status more than 200 times. Would've been really nice if I could've been sworn in and allowed to...

N 400 process taking too long

ndubs, from my understanding, NYC office is severely backlogged (based on other sites/forums). Did you try trackitt? It will give you an idea, too.

N 400 process taking too long

jwdkhan, I'm not sure where you are located but infopass isn't really required. You could just do walk-ins (at least that was the case in San Francisco for me). I can tell how annoying and impatient you guys must be, though. I've been placed in Oath scheduling que for over a week and its...

There's an update on my case actually. I went ahead and called the USCIS number and apparently, even though there's no change in online status, upon entering the application number, I was informed that my application was placed on line for Oath ceremony on the 27th. I'm quite hopeful that I'll...

I'm sorry if I'm being impatient. My father had his interview after I did and he's already received a soft update saying they're going to schedule his Oath soon. My interview was 10 days ago and there's been no update. Since we've already purchased tickets for Dec 2, we're a bit edgy.

NJN400 and Stinger, how long did it take you before there was a soft update for "placed in line for Oath"?

Testing and Interview since August 11

Did you try contacting the 1800 number? I'd start by calling them. I'd also try to visit local field office (6130 Tyvola Centre Drive Charlotte, NC 28217). They're the ones who normally handle it. You have to be proactive. Sometimes, your file(s) might get buried and forgotten. Unless you...

Wife received Interview Letter but not me

They're weird like that. My father applied later than I did and had an interview a week after my interview. He received a notification saying he's been placed in line for Oath while I haven't. That said, since it's been 150 days, I'd try and speak to a higher level personnel by dialing the...

The closest Oath date is Nov 19th, not Dec. Apparently, the passport office in SF can process the application within 5 days. In fact, I read about someone getting his passport in an hour (after showing travel itineraries and so on). At this point, our biggest priority is getting Oath letters...

No. the problem is, they haven't scheduled it, yet. My father and I plan to leave the country (2 month long) on First week of December. There are three Oath ceremonies scheduled in Oakland over the next 6 weeks. One on Nov 19, one on Dec 3, and one on 10. If we didn't get scheduled on Nov 19...

Congratulations, Stinger. Did you check "no" for "have you ever been cited, arrested...including traffic violations?" I'm starting to get anxious as if I didn't get scheduled for Oath Ceremony on the 19th next month, I'll need to cancel my trip abroad scheduled for first week of December.

San Francisco Timeline between Interview and Oath Letter

Seems like the normal timeline is about a month. If anybody's filed and received their citizenship from SF office, please share your results. TY

Just got back from my interview. The entire process took less than 15 mins. The officer had me read "how many senators are there in the US?" and read aloud "there are 100 senators". Following that, he asked me civic questions - basic and straightforward : 1. What is the rule of law? 2. What's...

Thanks, stinger. Hopefully that's the case. I got a copy from my DMV of my driving records. Hope that'll suffice if I were 'grilled' about traffic violations of any kind .

Thanks, Stinger. Last question, though. What do I tell DO when s/he asks if I have traffic tickets/citations? I have no speeding tickets but got 3-4 moving violations in recent years (double parking, making a left on "no left turn" signs) etc. Do I say no? Ty. I'm hoping for the best.

congratulations, stinger! That was fast. I saw a strange update on my status. Back in September (on the day that my interview letter was mailed out), there was an update on text/website status that stated they'd sent me a request for additional info - it's something I never received!. Today...

Ah. Thx. I went ahead and got my driving record printed out for the past 10 years. It had dates but didn't specify any violation....but it did show the number of violations and stated that I had acquired zero points (out of 12 required for ban or something), though. Hope that'll suffice.
