Blueocean,
Get you H1 extended BEFORE you file 485. Because filing 485 declares your intention to become immigrant. If you do that you CANNOT file H1 which is for non-immigrant workers.
However, please note that my opinions in the matter of immigration are worthless.
Apahilaj,
If you have your recipt #, you can quickly look up the status of the application on-line (if you hav'nt done it already):
https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/caseStatusSearchDisplay.do;jsessionid=eljivJmFfSF9
You will then know, what status your application is at (approved...
The processing time moved back because USCIS is going to report PTs "accurately".

or so goes the story.....
Effective August 2, 2004, USCIS has changed its requirements for photographs to a standard passport-style photograph.
A front facing photo is what they want.

HK,
Hurry up. File EAD today.
As far as I know, you will need a valid EAD to continue working. Receipt notice of EAD renewal may not be used as proof of work authorization.
Best of luck.
Dear friends,
My I-140 and I-485 were NOT filed concurrently.
I-140 was approved on 21st Jul 2006. However, I have NOT seen any movement on the 485 (No LUDs, RFEs etc). Clearly, since EB2 (India) is over for FY 06, I do NOT expect an approval. Though, it would be nice to see some sort of...
Slkrk,
I asked my lawyer to initiate an enquiry on 20th Jul 06. Within 24 hours, my 140 was approved.
You should ask your lawyer to submit an enquiry again. Dont let up on your lawyer.
Skyblue,
In my case (PBEC):
Labor was certified on 20th dec 05.
Certification notice rec'd on Jan3rd 06
Certified labor rec'd on Jan 19th 06.
Hope that helps.
Seeing as how they worked with phase1, where the I-140 applied before april 1st were also transferred. It would'nt surprise me that some/all of ours I140/485s also get transferred.
Just my opinion.
Phase 2 Bi-specialization
Dear friends,
Murthy.com is reporting that phase-2 bispec that affects I-140/I-485 concurrent filers will go in effect near the end of this month (http://murthy.com/news/n_phstwo.html).
Maybe our files will get picked up then, I hope.
BTW, my case remains...
Dear Friends,
I would like to start this thread to track those I-140s at VSC which were NOT transferred.
My reason is basic: I filed in Feb 06. My case was NOT transfered. I did apply for I-485, though not concurrently (RD 17/mar/2006, ND: 12/Apr/2006)
If you have also filed in I140 at...
I suggest that you get an updated emplyment letter with a writ that what was the company A is now company B. Keep the letter with you for future, should INS want to see it at a later date.
Aakash,
If your I140 is approved and your I-485 has been pending for more than 6 months after 140's approval, then you are okay.
You may have to send an updated employment letter (If served with RFE).
Understand though that my opinions in the matter of immigration are worthless.
Best...
Rinku,
Wild guess: Could be due to "amendment to name"?
Solution: Talk to a lawyer, if you have'nt already done that yet.
Another solution (worst case scenario): Wait for I-140 approval. It should be arround the corner for you. The I-140 approval notice will have your PD date. Apply 485...
Nash,
My I-485 was recieved on 3/17/6 by VSC. I received the reciept notice on 4/18/6 (ND 4/12/6). Give it time. Meanwhile, keep checking with you bank for cashed checks by VSC.
Foret1,
Medical (I-693) are valid for 1 year. USCIS link for I693 says that "The results of the medical examination are generally valid for only 12 months. Applicants should schedule the medical examination as close as possible to the time you file for Adjustment of Status."...
Sanbaj,
Keep an eye on H1b quota. If you see it filling up then file right away, if not then you may wait.
Best to ask an attourney.
Disclaimer: My opinions in the matter of immigration are worthless.
Sanbaj,
My company applied for 6+1+1 year extensions. Two one-year extentions, that is. In 2004 my 6-ye H1 expired. From 2004 to aug 2006 I have lived on that 1-yr extension deal.
This happened because my labor got stuck in BEC. The extension were filed 5 months before expiration in each case.
