Another great number - congrats everyone else who has gone current! Only three months in and we're already half way through the OC numbers, but I'm expecting we will start seeing a slow down next month. Will be interesting to see if the region even reaches quota this year...

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find a clear answer... What (if anything) are we meant to be doing with these US Travel Docs accounts? I signed up, now what? I have a feeling it might be more relevant to other visa applications outside of DV, but just thought I'd double check...

Just noticed this on the US Embassy Canberra site... "Medical reports are valid for three or six months from the date of examination, depending on the examination results. " Anyone know in what circumstances specifically it would only be valid for 3 months? I've never heard that before... Is...

I definitely had a more significant shadow on my picture and still got selected so I don't know if it's the end of the world... But yes, doesn't hurt to redo it. :D

So we don't actually know if we passed the medical or not until the consulate interview? o_O

On the medical exam again, did any OCers get the blood test done before hand and take in results with them? If that would be acceptable, I might consider doing that and getting the necessary tests just to cut costs a bit since none of the exam will be covered by Medicare...

Hey all, is anyone who has done the medical exam already able to shed some light on what will happen during the appointment and perhaps anything I need to prepare in advance? :) I'll bring my immunisation history with me, do I need anything else? Will I have to get blood tests, etc?

Love hearing everybody's "life after lottery" stories. Inspiring to hear so many of you are having the best lives in the US. I hope all of us in DV2016 are able to do the same by this time next year for the next batch of selectees... And let the circle continue!

What are you suggesting would result in someone's application being "discarded"? A shadow probably isn't going to matter - it would only really be an issue if the photo was so bad it looked nothing like the applicant in real life.

November 2NL's have got to be on there way today, surely? :D

I've just taken them just on a regular camera or my phone against a white wall/brightly lit room every year I entered. No issues. :) From memory there's a function on the DV site that let's you test if the photo is acceptable or not - you can just use that in case you're unsure.

2NL's for November interviews should be out any day now. Unless you're charging from Egypt or Ethiopia - then your number isn't current yet.

I wonder when the dates for DV2017 will be announced? I swear it was up on the website by this time last year.
