You have not posted enough information. Why were you not on a job etc... do you still have a valid H4 visa etc..

I spoke to the consultant and got a copy of the documents. Her status is H1 and it has been so since Oct 08.I'm speaking to an attorney on the next steps. Looks like the folks at USCIS did not give us the correct information.
Will update the forum. If others have gone through this...
H1 and location
From what I know, you are supposed to work only in the location where your visa says you can work. To work in another location, you need a transfer memorandum against an open LCA in that location. this TM needs to be filed with the USCIS.
