Well, everything went smoothly. The only negative is that the name check isn't finished.
District office was Boston, MA. It was really busy. We waited for 2hrs and 30 hours. Once we got in, everything went off without a hitch. The woman was very friendly, asked us a few basic questions like...
I'm a little short on documentation for establishing co-habitation. All I have is our bank statement and a letter signed from our landlord. We don't have a lease and utilities are included.
That makes me a little nervous, but not much I can do.
I'm taking:
-Letter from landlord saying we...
Thanks Southerner. That was a nice idea that I hadn't thought of.
I spent the last half hour printing out the first month's woth of emails we sent eachother. Thank you gmail for having the capacity to go back that far. While I know they won't read them all, it can't hurt to have them.
I...
Extra question. Both of you suggested car insurance, but she can't really operate a car here until she has legal status and gets a liscense. I didn't realize the insurance company would even let me put her on my insurance until then.
Thanks Southerner. I'll try to get as many things off your list as I can.
The wife's a fashion designer, so you know we have to be dressed nice all the time. :) Atleast we should be alright on that front.
Edit: Just saw Lucy's response. Thanks for the help!
Hi, I'm looking for advice on things to take to the interview.
First, we're going to have a problem because we don't have a lease or pay utilities. I know this will cause troubles, but we got a good deal on the place and I don't want to shake that up to have a lease and utility bill to take...
Approximately how long does it take to recieve the travel document after they tell you it's been approved?
We got a notice saying they approved it on 12/11. Think we'll have it before the 31st?
Okay, I guess specifics might help.
I'm wondering if I need to bring paper work related to tickets for possesion of alcohol below the legal age limit. I got a few of them back in Iowa growing up. It's a simple misdemeanor and they do not arrest you for it, just write you a ticket.
For the interview, they say: "If you nave ever been arrested or detained by any law enforcement officer for any reason, you must bring the following to your interview:"
My question is, do tickets written for simple misdemeanors count as being 'detained'?

This case is at our MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates.
Well, I don't see Missouri as an option in the service center menu. Anyone know what's up with this?
On November 16, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our...
I see a lot of people's signatures saying they waked in early for their Biometric data appointment. Is this something that is generally acceptable?
I'd like to do it, not to speed up my process, but rather because the date of my appointment is inconvenient for me. I know I could reschedule...
Please go easy on my here, as I'm sure this is a question you get all the time. But I didn't find an answer with a quick search.
Who needs to file for an Employment Authorization Document? I was under the impression that one could work once they recieved permanent residence status. Is this...
I had the same issue as the above poster.
Should I really just mail the same return again? It seems a little odd to do the same thing and hope for different results.
Here is the exact text of the request I received:
