I think you can go on cruise without passport book but with passport card if you have it. Then you can send your passport book for OCI and use your passport card for cruise. Just a thought.

I finally picked up my OCI documents from chicago consulate and here is that I think. You do not need to go there at 9.00 AM. You can go there 10.30 or even at noon. Droppoing off passport takes about 2 minutes and picking up documents at 4.00 took around 15 minutes. There is no token needed...

it took almost 3 months for me. July-12-2010 to Oct-10-2010.

Chicago stopped accepting OCI application about 2-3 weeks ago. They started accepting new application again 3 days ago. So send your application again.

Once I have OCI stamp in my US passport do I have to get new OCI stamp when I renew US passport? Or is it ok if I travel with old/expired US passport which has OCI stamp along with new valid US passport without OCI stamp? Thanks.

I have applied for OCI and I also saw same thing. First print date was 14 sec then 22 sep then finally ship date sep 30. Same as yours. (Chicago consulate)
