I had similar thought, but it is difficult to do it because some people may not visit the forum frequently. It would help if people whose name check started in 2003 could post a message to update their status.

It does not mean much - your name check started after Oct. 2004. Before your name check is cleared, USCIS will process the case anyway.

Have you talked to senator/congressman? Did you try hard to get the name check done? I doubt that name check will be done by itself if it has been there for long. Also, in your case, I think you should file WOM if your PD is current.

The article gives the reason why it is not FBI who does the initial name check - because FBI has already been heavily loaded.

Same here. We applied on July 2004. My husband got green card in May 2005. My name check is still pending since 2004. I have also contact one congresswoman and it does not seem that she even put effort on it. Now I have to wait for my priority date to become current, which may take 1-2months.

If your priority date has been passed, you can call USCIS, asking them to send a query.

Seems that they dont reply emails now - I sent them emails last July but did not get any reply.

I heard that many cases are approved within a couple of months after name check (pending for long time). Just wait for 1 or 2 months and check the online status frequently. Did you contact congressman to push the name check or was it cleared by itself? Thanks!
