maslouj,
Good luck - my prayers are with you. You already are prepared for the worst, so you are in a good place.
I'm sure the lawyer was right and you'll get your citizenship soon.
Devi
I think you should be ok, providing that you gave this explanation to the IO.
We all should take this as a good lesson: COMMON SENSE is extremely important. Sometimes 'over revealing' can get us into trouble. I'm not saying to lie or to hide anything, but 'casual conversation' should have...
Wow, Congrats!
Your wait is over, at least until the interview is done.
Your timeline was very similar to mine, except that I just received the Yellow Letter a few days ago. I'm hoping I'll get the IL soon.
Devi
I don't think IL & CFR have anything to do with each other (other than telling us that the case is being processed), since they're issued by two different offices.
The second IO I spoke to earlier today told me to call back if I don't get the IL in a few weeks so they can notify the DO office...
Received Yellow Letter.
Finally got the yellow letter. I called the 800# to inquire about my interview schedule, and got the same answer: no date yet, I should receive the notice in the mail in a few weeks :)
Well, at least now I got the yellow letter, so it's one step closer.

To Tonyhana and rdy4czn
rdy4czn: The IO said it could take up to 8 weeks or so, and to call back in 2-3 weeks.
Yeah, I too have some travels scheduled and couldn't even buy airtix as I didn't want to have to cancel if the interview schedule came up.
Tonyhana: Thanks for the info...
No IL nor RFE yet...
Well, I'm one of those (unlucky) few who still hasn't received neither the IL nor the RFE. I wish they could just tell me when the ID is, so I can relax and plan my life (trips, etc.).
Anyway, I'm hoping to get them soon!

To speak to second level IO
Johnsmith1,
Once you are connected to the Customer Service, just tell the person that you need to be transfered to the second level IO, you don't need to give them any reason. If they ask you if there's anything they can help you with you instead, just tell them...
Finally on queue for Interview
For some reason my N400 process is not as fast as most people posting here. Although earlier today, the second level IO told me that I have now been put on a queue for interview, effective 7/9/09.
Anyway, here's my timeline:

Missing evidence
Thanks so much, Want. I'm glad I wasn't the only one :)
Hopefully this will not cause a serious delay. I just wanted to get thru this whole process and become a USC asap!
How's your case coming along? Have you gotten yours yet?
All,
I just sent in my N400 application yesterday, and just realized that I forgot to include copy (back and front) of my greencard!!
Not sure what to do now - should I just wait for their letter for additional documents required?
I couldn't believe I did this, since I had a checklist...
