    Going back to India

When I lived there, I spent some time working with some NGOs on some social issues in India. If you think Jerry Springer is bad, just wait until you hear some of the things that go on in India on a regular basis. At least in the US, while it may be in poor taste, such social issues are...

    Going back to India

That's what you think about "higher values". I know from personal experience since my parents took me back there to instill these "higher values". Let's be honest with ourselves here. Do you really think India is that white washed? You must be joking. In India every single vice there is in...

Re: Registered Marijuana user in California - Is it a problem?

I've been doing a lot of research on this and I want my findings to be known here so that everyone has full knowledge of the law. The reason I started this was thanks to some unscrupulous lawyer who scared the life out of me and then offered to represent me at an I-90 appointment of all things...

harrasing some GC holders at POE

I have a question based on a statement you made in this thread. What exactly constitutes "admission"? For example if one has admitted to an offense that is not deportable but only renders the person inadmissible, does that mean the person should never leave the country for or does it mean...

Spouse of USC leaving US for few Years with GC

^^^ Definitely the best advice. Get that citizenship now. Don't sit around and put yourself in a position that will hinder your being together for more than a year or hinder your ability to come here if your husband need to return on short notice. You don't know what laws and changes the future...

No entry to Switzerland on green card

Yeah that was a nice exception, it was so easy to take a nice spur of the moment European vacation by flying to Zurich or Geneva and enjoying it. In fact I accidentally took a wrong turn out of Basel airport and ended up in France, I asked someone which country I was in and they said France. I...

    Re-entry permit lost in mail

I really have choice words for you, but I'm going to try to be nice about it. You spent all this time, years lest I need to remind you, and I'm sure a lot of money and maybe the help of a sponsor and now you suddenly aren't sure you want to be here. I don't get it. Make up your mind very soon...

Immigration Service fingerprints of greencard holders at airport,Greencard rights are protected

I don't mind that one bit if it helps you prove status in case you got your GC stolen abroad. Problem is the airport overseas needs to see your GC. But I suppose if you have a previous ARC stamp you can argue your way through.

Immigration Service fingerprints of greencard holders at airport,Greencard rights are protected

IME, JFK is the best. NYC is the best. Honestly the city is the most diverse you'll find in the US. The only entry where I got an enthusiastic "welcome home". This does not happen at other ports. I don't know, it's just my impression. From now on I will make it a point to fly through NYC...

One of the hardest things to do sometimes. Sometimes we think by adding information even if may seem favorable information, I think we get ourselves into trouble.

After citizenship? How? You should be able to show your passport and walk right in. Correct? Or am I wrong about something?

Immigration Service fingerprints of greencard holders at airport,Greencard rights are protected

Yes same happened to me, both immigration room plus extra luggage check. On the bright side about a year later after a visit to Canada no issues coming back. But you never know what may happen at any return. Those moments of anxiety and you wish you applied for naturalization before anything...
