    Backlog Elimination Report

Thanks for the links, but as I see, there is nothing for asylee adjustments there. It even says that the I-485 in general became slower than it was before. Grew for 21.2 to 21.7 months. The RTD figures look better though. Not much for us, unfortunately.

    Canada with RTD

to Lazerthegreat Does this multiple entries on a single entry visa apply only to those holding US issued documents or to all entering Canada from the US? Like for example, my mother in law is visiting us now and has her foreign passport which is also stamped with a Canadian single entry visa...

    driver license for asylee

Aniket19, I aslo live in Jersey. Which docs did you show? My I-94 has an expiration date, because they made a mistake. I have been getting DLs that expired in 1 year. Last time I went to MVS was in May, 2004. I went to Wayne. Where did you get it and when?

    RTD issue

I do not see any reason to maintain the asylum status once you are a GC holder, and I think if you get your GC through marriage or work, a Reentry Permit will be issued so you can travel as you like.

    change of processing times!!!

Wasn't it January 15 or 16 2005 for the court of appeals?

Does it mean 20000 quota for asylees during 2005

Hah! Indeed! What is this, some kind of a joke, a trip to the future or are we all getting delusional from a long wait for adjustment?

    Date to citizen

You are absolutely right. Actually, they, most probably, created this 1 year backdate rule way back when asylees, indeed, were getting their green cards very soon after they applied 1 year after the grant of asylum. It was only logical. The logical thing now would be backdating a GC to the date...

    FP Notice!!!!!!! Big Issue

Exactly, not to mention that some people who applied in 2004 are getting FP notices before the ones that applied in 2001/2002. So there is no order or logic to it, just wait and see..... You'll get it eventually.

    Asylee's parent

Thanks for the clarification. Indeed, my in-laws will get their green card within 2 years time, after filing I485 in July this year, we are scheduled to get it in 2007-2008 IF things go smoothly.

    Asylee's parent

I checked with my husband and he said that he acted through an immigration lawyer and yes this was done on a basis of his asylum granted status. He has no idea what forms the lawyer filled out. I suggest you guys check with your lawyers for more information. I know they had to provide evidence...

Derivative asylee spouse and children can return to their country of origin

But what you are saying was many years ago. If you click on the link given, the name of the article is "NSC Updates - 05/11/04".

    Asylee's parent

Guys, what are you talking about? My husband, who is a primary asylee, has filed for his parents to join him and they received a refugee status in less than 2 years. We were granted asylum by IJ in January, 2000. His parents have been here since June of last year. The primary asylee can file for...

    Continuous RTD?

Guys, the chaotic way things are happening right now in CIS (old cases being held and the new ones approved before the older ones, and I do not mean asylee adjustment, other stuff like EAD and RTD, wouldn't it worsen the situation if you applied six months in advance? An friend of mine filed for...

Derivative asylee spouse and children can return to their country of origin

This was originally posted by ASLUSER: Quote: "According to the center a derivative asylee spouse and children can return to their country of origin with or without the principal. A short trip should not affect the derivatives ability to adjust (adjustment of status). As they can travel...

Travel to Home Country through neighbor country

Jim, What about derivative asylees? Is this a crime for them to go and see there parents. This would be very cruel, because primary applicants can at least file for their parents to join them, but the derivative applicatnts, spouses, for example, can not start the process of family reunion...

    Please share your experience..

I applied for my RTD in December, 2003. In July I received an RFE asking me to provide proper photos. I did. They received them on July 20 and sice then I haven't heard from them. Case status online says that it will take 330 to 360 days to process this kind of case. But as the preliminary...
