I don't think you can get the receipt number from USCIS (there was a tread about this on trackitt couple of weeks ago, the applicant called USCIS and they refused to give him the #, as he was not the petitioner), but your employer (or HR) should be able to get the number from the lawyer.

No, I don't think so. At least we never saw the whole PERM, just the last page, where you sign, we don't have a copy . Also, we don't have a copy of the 140, or even the receipt number. The lawyer told us that this is property of the company and we are not supposed to have it.

PERM is not valid unless signed by the employee. C in the number means Chicago. So, you are OK, Congratulations. Get after your attorney to have the 140 filed quickly. Your employer and attorney will have online account for PERM. We could not get access though, ever.
