My guess is that USCIS may voluntarily expedite the NC for long NC pending cases. This is my reading of the info Mr. Murthy relvealed. May be they first expedite NCs for those pending for over 33 months? If my guess is right, I'll be among those lucky ones. My NC has been pending for over 42...
koku1,
What interested me is that the Ombudsman held a teleconference on July 20 and apparently revealed some recent progress. Read the paragraph I quoted. I don't think it was mentioned in the Ombudsman report. Mr. Murthy must have got this info from the teleconference, not from the...
I found this on Murthy's website:"Ombudsman Addresses Excessive Name Check Delays". What do you think? Shall we trust it?

I called NSC IO on 7/24 afternoon. She listened my situation and asked my receipt #. After verifying my name, she told me ny case is at staging area and waiting for officer to review. I was a little surprised because last week I called twice and both time I was told security checks pending. I...
vvvunlucky,
I know your feeling. Actually, I have the exactly same frustration. We are so frustrated not because the process is long but because it is so unfair!!! This is ecpecially true when we already know the result of these checks (which is 'clear') yet we still have to unfairly wait!!!
I have run out of ways to get this NC mess solved. See my signature. I am now eagerly waiting for response from the First Lady. Can you imagine that: already 3 and half years for NC?
Lawyers won in that they can collect money now.
Applicants lost in that they paid money now and still have to face a long journey because CIS is now creating other excuses to delay delay delay.
The only gain I see for applicants is that they get a PD in July. However, when DOS makes that...
How they define the rules is one thing; how they execute the rules is another thing. The fact that they can submit one's NC twice already speaks for iteself, i.e. this system is a mess. How can they avoid confusions and improve efficiency (if they really care to) with such a system???
InfoPass has never been helpful for me. The local USCIS officers didn't tell me any information. All they told me was my case is at NSC and beyond their responsibility. I have tried InfoPass twice. This is at Detroit.
Finally got a chance to talk to an IO who is nice. She checked my A# and told me "security checks still pending". She also told me all security-clearance-cleared cases will be at an area to determine if a visa number is available for it. Because of this, there is no way for her to tell if a case...
If this is true, how come I haven't got any luck? I think my case should be at quite front of the queue. I have seen many cases with later PD/RD were approved during past two weeks. I don't believe USCIS would waive the requirements of name check.
duncanidaho,
I know I am stuck in Namwe Check by contacting the two senators in my state. They actually contacted FBI and forwarded me the FBI replies. From them, I know by Nov. 2006 it is still pending. This was the last time I asked senators to check NC for me.
I also tried USCIS...
I second to you. I'm feeling the same pains as you. They are not showing any fairness and respect to applicants.
For me, because we don't have GC (although we have been waiting for many years), my wife has to keep changing plans for her education and career. Without GC, you have to pay...
