I have received I-693 with the interview letter. does this mean that i should be redoing the medical? they also sent me an affidavit of support form but my case is employment based. i thought AS applies only for marriage based cases.

did any of you received Medical Form and Affidavit of Support in the interview letter? i don't have copies of medical because the doctor gives you a sealed envelope. do i have to redo the medical?

Would there be any issue for the derivative of an EB petition, if after approval of GC the primary is no longer with sponsoring employer? If derivative is called for an interview would they be queried about primary employment situation? Any insights greatly appreciated...

hi there - you cannot apply for 485 until your PD becomes current. The EAD benefits go along with the 485 unfortunately which means you have to wait. You are not alone in this. best of luck!

PD is Priority Date. This is when your Labor Cert was approved. 485 cases are reviewed based on PD. Currently they are reviewing cases 2001/2002 which means that they are way behind, i.e. retrogression. they are separate threads dedicated to the issue. very important so check them out. cheers...

yes - if your 485 is rejected your wife will fall out of status. but that is worst case scenario. do not think about it. the road to green card is laid with uncertainties but focus on the positive.

My understanding is that you should file with VSC. These applications are processed at the regional level, not the local. I checked this information with an attorney and he confirmed.

Guys - it is probably a mistake. If your case was transferred in a state that you do not currenlty live in, they do not have jurisdiction to process it. It may take months until they realize. Either go to the local office, or write a letter explaining the mistake. Same thing happened to me...

I called several times and still nothing. You can get a stamp in your passport which is used instead of the owrk permit.

been waiting for my bio letter for 4 months. so it is not as quick as you think it is. at least in this case. hope yours comes faster.

Best way to confirm the case is by making an Infopass appointment at the district office. they quickly check whether the case has been recieved.
