AVM/Web: Never changed....975-999...received......
Lawyer is refusing to send an enquiry till 11/11/02.....is there a particular format for the fax enquiry? Was wondering if I can do it on my own ? Does INS replies to fax enquiry via FAX or normal mail ...
30 days after date published in last JIT
30 days from the JIT publish date....so 11/11/2002..this is what I was told by my lawyer. She said if we send a fax enquiry now, in all likelihood INS will reply Case-Pending so its better to wait till 11/11/02...BTW, my ND is 09/24/01....
well, murthy.com shows 10/01 for CSC I-485
http://www.murthy.com/pt_calif.html
Do i still need to wait 30 days in order to find out whether the
case has been assigned or not. Web and AVM has always said " app. rec.....975-999...." ?
That is quite obvious from the latest JIT report....
Did she say that INS is not going to process *ANY* case till 10/15 ? Any word on what type of cases ? Thanks!

I had to press the IIO a bit....I asked him repeatedly about dates and he told me about printing and mailing......he also added that normally these are done by INS contractors....not all IIOs are that helpful and I think I got lucky there....
it'd arrive....little late though
I think you'd see ur AP approval notice in mail sometime...
Mine was approved on 07/31 (ND: 07/08) per AVM and I
received it on 09/15 ...about 1.5 months after approval.
You may want to verify ur address by speaking to IIO..

Was wondering if I can reenter US without getting a new H-1B visa stamped ?

AP rec 6 weeks after approval date
Hello Folks,
Here's my experience on this....
Applied AP renewal on July 05, 2002 (ND: 07/08/2002) and was
approved by INS-CSC on 07/31/2002 (per AVM)
I received my approval notice only on 15th Sept, a month and half after approval date. IIO told me...
My understanding is that if either u or ur spouse uses AP to re-enter, u lose ur H-1B status and go in AOS-Pending status .... U need EAD to work. Check with ur lawyer..
Was also in the same boat....AP applied on 07/08 and was approved on 07/31 as per AVM. I received Approval notice last week (sept 15). Here's what IIO said was the reason for the delay, " Though the AP was approved on 31 July by INS, the approval notice was printed and mailed only on 26th Sept."...
