Lot of people in this forum ( including myself ) are counting on their Green Cards for their “ Professional Growth ” , As far as I know , INS or DOJ or DOS ……non of them have issued any statement with that regard ...
FP , Approvals .....are independent of Audit
as a thumb rule , these audit\'s generally speeds up the whole process.....
by definition Audit means : pull up your socks .
I am sure this will have a positive impact .

did your check encash FIRST or you got your receipt FIRST ?
what exactly was the sequence and what was the time difference between check clearing & your receiving the receipt .?
Thanks in advance
Mail date : 08/09 , Courier : Airborne , waiting Receipts
I had mailed on 06/25 and application was sent back because the amt on the check was incorrect .
Re-Submitted on 08/09
thoughts ..........
I remember during the month of April 01 some people had withdrawn their I485 and re submitted in May 01 again .
the Logic behind is that they wanted to beat the i245 rush
I don\'t know if re submitting a good idea but I would say there is NO harm in doing that ...
I can understand your frustruation
I had mailed my I485 forms on 6/25 but because of a mistake in the amt , my packet was returned .
I resent my packet with the RIGHT amt on 8/10 .
you may want to call INS or ask your attorney to call on your behalf and find out what exactly is happening ?
be careful while sending the check
Pls. check the amt 3 times and verify if it correct before sending .
I had submitted my I485 on 6/25 and they sent it back saying that " amt was incorrect ".......I had to resubmit it again on 8/09
when did you submit the papers ?
INS is sending out Receipts notices without encashing the checks .......so this means ........check encashment cannot be treated as a REFERENCE .
