According to ImmigrationUSA post, they have approved LIN02040XXXXX cases, which are November 19 '01 RD cases.
They might have some officers working on backlogs and some on newer cases.
Who knows how these people at NSC work!!
Hello Wisefish,
Our dates are very close. How did you find out about the transfer?
The two most common reasons I have heard for local transfer cases are:
1) cases filed under 245i.
2) Married less than two years.
I hope this is only for asylum cases but read this:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A25018-2003Jan21.html
This says that asylum cases are completely halted because there is no budget for them. This could also affect I-485 cases because all I-485 filers have paid this...
Looks like this will affect everyone since all I-485 applicants have also paid this surcharge to fund the asylum and refugee cases.
I am not sure if this included all the cases that are pending or all new cases that will be filed after Friday. I hope the cases already filed are not affected!
Check out the news ticker at www.shusterman.com. It says that the INS will be lowering the fee for I-485 and they will be refunding the difference and due to this there is a possibility of delays in the processing of I-485 cases!!
One bad news after the other, this sucks!
I was told the exact same thing today that my case was not assigned to an officer yet and they are still processing August 01 cases.

If you are from any of the three countries listed above and your I-485 is pending do you still have to go through the special registration process?
This blows!
