Haha..small world! I used to go back to Indonesia for vacation when I was still at school in Australia, but now I don't have my family there anymore though I still have some relatives. I've been away from Australia for 17 mths, I'm so dying to see my close friends and family again.
Its funny...
3 more days Maconcita!!!
You will be fine, don't worry too much and enjoy your weekend. My husband and I carried 2 thick folders with us..but nope..didnt get to rummage through them really. Sending lots of lucks for you :)
I'm not too familiar with consular processing, but when my number was "current" I sent out my paperwork including the medical result in sealed envelope, then about a week or two, I received a notice to do my biometrics then again about a month later I went for interview.
I believe there is...
Hi skyoz,
It's fairly simple :), if they said chargeability for Asia is 2900 in Oct-that means anyone with the case number from 1 to 2900 can submit their paperworks from October 1.
You could predict by looking at previous years' bulletin. What is your number btw?
I think he meant once he get approved, him and his wife will fly to US and travel a little bit before looking for a permanent address to settle in US--and the forwarding address they have created now will be where the USCIS send their green cards later on. Am I right davefromoz (from Aussie I...
A lot of us indeed very lucky to have smooth process and after reading your story  I'm forever grateful for this opportunity.
I sincerely hope something great will come out after such a long wait on your end--hang in there and please keep us posted!
OMG you totally deserve it! Since 1997?? I only been in the US since early last year, already I feel the journey for the GC is such a long one. I totally agree that it is about time for you! ;)
^^ LOL I just complained about USCIS website 20 mins ago, and like few secs ago I received CRIS email that says "Card Production Ordered" ----thats it now I'm truly happy!!
Hey Maconcita,
I havent forgotten about you :p I know your interview is coming up in less than a week! So dont feel left out--if anything...as you know I'm still kinda worry about my online case status...gosh I hate that website!
Well you gotta start somewhere. I talked to my bank about building credit history etc and they set me up with a specific credit card with low credit limit to start with. That was a year ago...now I have mortgage, I bought a car and have normal bank accounts/credit cards like most people do...
You will need to apply for SSN to be able to work. So I suggest you do that the first thing when you arrived :)
Once you get the SSN, not only you will be able to look for a job, you can apply loan, credit cards, open bank account and so on.
To look for a job, depending which state you are...
^^^^ Congratulations dv2008gh!
Did they tell you why there's no stamp? In my case they give me stamp because they took my EAD and I-94 away..I wouldnt be able to proof to my employer that I'm authorized to work without that stamp.
It may sounded reasonable but the officer did make the request in front of me, he even showed me what he entered.
He said, visa numbers usually good till Sept 30, but hey i think it is still depends which region you came from.. and how many got approved by Sept 30-all I know he requested it and...
Was he talking about checking the availability of visa number electronically? because thats what happen during my interview last week. The difference is, the officer who interviewed me check for my visa number availability on the spot when we were there and I can see "APPROVED" both times...
Thanks for that! Yeah, I tried the 1800 number but as you know is just BS :( with them.
I will search for the field office telephone number...
I know the stamp should be good enough for now, but to me case under review makes me uncomfortable....its like...I did something wrong!
1. Yes you need to get it translated by approved translator. If you do google and search under translator under whatever state you are in, you should be able to find some information.
2. EAD and advance parole include in the $100X fee that you will send later to the Chicago office, not the $375
Hi tp2007-
Congrats first of all. May I ask you a question? I just had my interview last thursday and I was wondering what did they put as your case status (online) after your interview? I got my passport stamped and the officer approved our DV however the case status online still says...
I think it is best to translate everything non-english to english.
My husband's documents (in Indonesian) are even more messy than yours.
His birth certificate shows incorrect date (because his uncle went to the registry not his parents), believe it or not....his parents are not listed on his...
Thanks everyone!! I wish you all the very best of lucks too!!!
Rightttt...I guess my 'stress' is not over yet. I just checked my online status, and I got this (updated at 11am today):
Current Status: Interview completed, but case under review
Your case is currently undergoing a required...
