Just curious - situation doesn't apply to me. If primary is approved and spouse not approved in current FY, will the spouse numbers come from next year's quota? What if the filing category of primary is retrogressed in next year - would the spouse have to wait till visa numbers are available...

Haven't seen any approvals for past few days. Perhaps all visas are really exhaused now. Hopefully with next FY they'll approve earlier PDs first.
Yes, that was expected, with everyone shouting that NC delays were affecting security by allowing people to obtain EAD. So instead of making NC faster, they made EAD slower. There are three three guaranteed in life - death, taxes and immigration backlogs.
I agree. Typically a guy gets approved, creates a new thread with the title "Approved". Then next two days the thread keeps floating to the top as people post a one line "congratulations". Every time you think it's a new approval, only to find otherwise when you click the thread. A week or so...
Oh and one more tip - ask this question during Rajiv's concall - he'll be able to better advice you than any of us. Make sure you post it in the concall thread.
Here's what you should do right away - take a screenshot and printout of the application status screen which shows "Pending". Then file for Motion to Reopen. You need to find out why your I-485 was denied - most common reason is missed FP notice. If this is the case, it should be easy to get it...
