I'm in the processing of pending approval letter for I-130 I-485 & EAD. However with the strict rules of illegal immigrants in the U.S. ..am I still consider a illegal immigrant? Any opinions to share?

I have a reciept date for applying for EAD on 8/14/06. Biometrics was taken on 9/1/06. I still have no notice of approval. Has anyone been rejected for a EAD? I also applied for I-130& I-485 at the sametime.
