Ive seen plenty of people get approved without LUDs, so who knows, there really isnt a system to all this madness. Keep your hopes up.

You usually get 2 LUDs after you do your FPs. I know I got them when I did my change of address too. Not sure what else can cause an LUD.

I got an LUD on a national holiday, this has got to be fake right?

LUD is the Last Update Date. You can check that by logging into the immigration site and it will be listed along with your case number. BTW, I got a new LUD on a national holiday, they must be computer generated or something, and Im not even sure as to why I got an LUD...

I just got an LUD due to an address change! I was unsure if they would get it done via the online form, I guess it does work :) yay! The little things that make me happy.

I would actually have been on H1 for 6 years come next April waiting for my turn to apply for the 485. I think it will only be renewed for 1 year from here on if Im not mistaken. Not much of an advantage really.

All this EAD talk just reminded me that my H1 expires in April '08 :( Im thinking of just renewing that... decisions decisions...

You MUST have a valid H1 or EAD to work in the US. You can stay here while your I-485 is pending but you cant work without a permit.
