Processing time for green card based on asylum

Hope all goes well for you. You got any responses for your mandamus (like an interview or any update)?? And are you from one of those 19 countries in the list?
I haven’t got any response yet. I just talked with my attorney and she said it was filed on October 20th, so technically they have to respond by December 20 if they won’t ask for any extensions. Yes, I am from one of those countries in that list.

I wish you the best stay strong, i know it is a tough time. May i ask for your attorney’s name and how much you paid for WOM?

I have no answers for your questions now. I have to get in touch with my attorney and ask her about that. I will let you know asa I talk to her.
Understand I’m also filing wom on December the 16th I hope nothing by the best we been waiting since 2023 march for the green card approval.
I hope we all good people get approved but believer it or not I hope they get rid of all the other ones that commit crimes this is why we came to this country fleeing crimes

It seems like the earlier message from one of the members was correct; there is a pause on all cases for people from those 19 countries for the final decision on all applications. Not sure what is really going to happen when filing WOM, and there is a pause, and maybe this pause is going to be longer than the other one.

Honestly, I am not sure bro!
But I remember some individuals got their green cards after filing mandamus and shared their timelines here with us in couple of pages ago and that literally happened when there was a pause. I have no idea how much legitimate is an internal pause for DOJ!

Does this massage mean anything or just a standard chat with emma on i485:

The case is still with the NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER. It appears nothing is missing, lacking, or needed on your side for this case. Once the case is finished and the decision is made you will be notified via mail. We are not able to see the last time your case was reviewed by an officer. They do not put that in the system. IF you need an interview you will be notified via mail to appear at you local field office.

I just replay to you on lawfully

Hi everyone,
We filed a Mandamus for our asylum-based I-485s. Today, the Assistant U.S. Attorney emailed us saying USCIS had actually scheduled our interviews for Nov 7, but we never received any interview notices by mail or in our USCIS online accounts. DOJ attached the copies.
So now USCIS thinks we didn’t show up, but we literally never got the letters. Has anyone been in this situation?

That has started to happen already , there is a thread on this forum with similar issues , applicants received NTA while waiting for their pending interviews. (Not everyone though)

Why would an asylee receive NTA for failing to appear for i485 interview sir?
Exactly

Yet some received it and they were stunned

An interview that never existed

And now they have to deal with immigration court , and there is no way USCIS takes any case back once they deny / send over application to immigration court

I get it for asylum missed interviews but even if your green card is denied you still have a legal asylum status I don’t know why they would send it to the court?

I am sorry, my bad … I was literally following two forums … asylum and green card …. And got it confused

This is happening to some pending Asylees

Please ignore

But interesting to know a similar event to green card interview as well ?

I figured brother. It just doesn’t make sense for uscis to do that unless they want to terminate your asylum which is very rare.

Does anybody know anything about the news policy ? It looks weird to me as granted asylums never needed a work authorization!
Here is the link:
The work permit part is pretty clear I guess but what I believe is everytime they process a new ead they have to run a background checks so doing that often will keep them updated which I think is pretty unnecessary and just another way of exploiting money tbh.

I understand. But we I don’t need a work authorization to work, how would they want to decrease the duration of it’s validity? This doesn’t make sense
