My previous boss in Canada asked me to train my replacement remotely. I may get a little bit payment or maybe just volunteer. My question is am I allowed to do this while work in the US in TN status.
This is not volunteering regardless if you are paid or not
That said, as long as your previous firm has no US presence, you can legally work to do this, even while in US
