I got laid off while on TN1. Can i claim unemployment insurance in US or I can only claim in Canada?

Service Canada has details on how to apply for UI/EI once you have returned to Canada from working in US. Generally, you end up collecting UI from the state you were in, for some few states, EI makes the payout, based on agreement with state.
As newacct sez, you are ineligible for UI while in US, even though you could almost instantly get a new job, because you are not "immediately available for work" on whatever status you switched to after layoff.
