Hi guyz.....I applied for my citizenship in Feb 2003 from windsor....so its been about 6 months....and all I have got from them is an acknowledgement letter.....I called them once and they said they were doing the background check.....has anyone applied from windsor?...does anyone know how long...

for cnatar02 It is fairly easy to get a visitors visa as long as you are a canadian permanent resident. you may be asked to prove that you live in canada. ofcourse they are concerned about you permanently settling in US so make sure you take all your canadian bank statements, phone bills etc.

thanks for that informative reply Ray S.......my processing center would be Nebraska if I choose to apply.... As far as I know labor in michigan takes a year! plus 3 months for federal labor clearance....wonder if this is a good time to apply with unemployment at its peak?

well if we(H1 people) dont get any unemployments/social security benefits, wonder why do we have to pay social security taxes in US....do we get any unemployment benefits from Canada?
