Urgent!!! What do I do??
I am a student with F1 visa. I recently got married to a US citizen. I also have a visa until 2014. I was in a process of applying for Green Card. Unfortunately my lawyer applied for I 539, which was supposed to change nonimmigrant to immigrant status. In response to I 539, they sent me a letter saying that, since your husband is a US citizen, you are not eligible to apply for I 539 and hence it is denied. Along with this they also said that I need to leave country in 30 days. I havn't applied for green card yet, beacause my lawyer said it is best to apply after applying for I 539. I would like to know if there is any way I can void this. I have about 20 days left to handle this. Any suggestions are accepted. Please help. Thankyou.
