ok to apply for passport right after oath?

I applied for my passport the very next morning after I had my naturalization ceremony. I applied at the national passport agency, and got my passport within a few hours since I had to travel almost immediately. So it's possible...

Is it possible to apply for 1st passport after naturalization at US embassy overseas?

I don't know whether this is relevant at all, but you can get a US passport from one of the national passport agencies on the same day (I did that). All you need is to show evidence of your travel.

Traveling when N-400 is being processed

I had travel between my N-400 filing and interview; I kept all the documentation with me of my travel (for some reason I didn't have a stamp on my passport), but when I mentioned this to the officer at my interview, he noted down the dates and destinations, but never asked to see any documents...

    USCIS makes things disappear

Yeah, I'm already a citizen -- and have my passport; my case status NEVER appeared from the very beginning.

    Baltimore N-400 Timeline

That's the first time I heard Baltimore DO was "sending out oath letters by mail". For the last few weeks, they've been scheduling the oath right after the interview; I'm surprised that they would revert to methods employed by many other DOs. You might want to pay Baltimore DO a visit...

    Proof of spouse's citizenship

I would get a duplicate birth certificate if your wife is born in the US (and especially since your petition is based on marriage). Again, I doubt it's going to make a huge difference, but by taking it you could probably prevent another delay/cancellation/USCIS headache.

    Baltimore N-400 Timeline

    1. You may want to directly call the Baltimore DO or setup an INFOPASS with the Baltimore office to follow the progress of your case. Make sure you keep them on their toes; otherwise it's easy to get behind. 2. Yes, the processing in VA is done by the Washington DC/Arlington VA district...

    Baltimore N-400 Timeline

Thanks, Vlorak! Yeah, I can't tell you how happy I am to have the US passport in my possession. I've traveled extensively before, and with my old country's passport, no matter where I stand socially and economically (and I'm a professional), somehow the fact that I carry a passport from a...

    Baltimore N-400 Timeline

I just got home from the Washington Passport Agency, with my brand spanking new US passport. They actually do a pretty good job of expediting the passport and getting it back to me in a few hours. Since I'm traveling next week, I made my appointment last week when I got my oath letter. My...

    Baltimore N-400 Timeline

Roran, No. If you opted for a name change, then you have to go to the judicial naturalization ceremony held at the Baltimore District Courts, and not to the civil ceremony which USCIS holds almost daily in its auditorium. Today (during my oath) there was actually one applicant, who, for some...

    Baltimore N-400 Timeline

Nikkonstar, When I interviewed, the officer asked to look at my SS registration. I showed him the registration card (I was just 2 months shy of my 26th birthday when I became a LPR, so I registered anyways). But I'm sure if you were >26 it should not be a problem. If you're worried, take a...

    Baltimore N-400 Timeline

Became a U.S. citizen! Hey everyone, I just became a U.S. citizen. The ceremony was pretty nice, held at the Baltimore district office of USCIS. We were first all asked to wait in the lobby, and then everyone was asked to form a singlefile line, and take the elevators upto the 7th Floor...

    Baltimore N-400 Timeline

Sometimes some IOs ask for "status information letters" (SIL) from the Selective Service. If you are neither a male, or if you are >26 yrs when you immigrated, I think this is a moot point, so personally I would not bother getting one. But, if it helps you sleep better at night, you could...

    Name Check Pending after Interview

Actually if the issue is just a change in the order of names, no new name check should be necessary as the FBI checks all possible variations of the names in different orders. Perhaps the USCIS AO who handled your case didnt' know that! Either way, by law USCIS has 120 days to decide on your...
