I can only hope that it will indeed jeopardize your status.
In any event, here's what the USICS web site says about the consequences of criminal behavior if you're a permanent resident. I would assume the same standards apply for H1B visa holders.
Beating your wife would most...
nope - the stamp isn't what matters. what matters is the date on your advanced parole document.
In addition to the "date issues" on the upper right, there should be a sentence on the document that says "presentation of the original of this document prior to XXX will authorize an...
I managed to get an iEAD in New York 90 days after the receipt notice on my e-filed EAD even though an RFE had been sent on my EAD application, so I don't think that's a problem. They're usually very strict in New York about the rules - so I doubt there's any rule against it.
As for your...
I filed my I-485 in September 2004, and was never called in for an interview. I got worried about that - but then found out from people in this forum and my congressman's office that some people don't get called for an interview if for one reason or another the case looks solid and they believ...
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you both.
I think 120 days seems to be the "hard number" for walking in and getting an AP.
You can certainly always try to go in and get one same day before that time by scheduling something on INFOPASS - but our experience was that they checked our...
Just got through a bad experience waiting for an AP and wanted everyone to know that if your AP is more than 120 days delayed, you have the right to go into your local office and get an AP that day.
My story: Filed my I-131 last October with the CSC (where my I-485 is pending) and it had a...
Can anyone help me understand what the heck this means?
Quick background: Filed I-485 in NYC in 9/04. Received notice in 9/05 stating it was transferred to the CSC. E-mailed CSC earlier this month to inquire on the status, and received response from M. Bueno stating that it was located...
I really still don't know, because it seems to ask for things that I'm sure I supplied them with originally. I guess it's most likely it was for the signature. I just got a form letter attached to the blue cover sheet that says:
- evidence of eligibility (...and long blah blah explanation...
I don't have the answer - but can tell you that I'm in the same situation and have been waiting 29 days now since my online case status changed on February 21st to say that they had received my RFE response. Still waiting. (Like you, I filed with the CSC).
Thanks for the advice, NYImmigrant. I've got an appointment with USCIS next week, and hope I get someone who will tell me the status of my name check. I unfortunately don't have a lawyer.
I followed up on the AP application about a month ago when it was delayed enough for USCIS to do an...
hey guys - i applied for my AOS in Sep 04 and am still waiting. Am wondering where I am in the name check process, and if that might be why my applications for travel and employment from Sep 05 still have not been approved.
Sent a letter under the FOIPA to the FBI, and got a response earlier...
is this a new rule they've got now for new yorkers? interviews for EADs and APs?
i never knew USCIS required an interview for an EAD or an AP application, but my husband has just been sent a letter saying that his AP has been processed (..by the CSC, where his I-485 was pending) and...
hi - it shouldn't matter how many days it took you to *file* the I-485 after her K-1 expired. The only thing that is important is that you were married within the 90 day timeframe after she entered the country.
As long as you can prove that you married in the timeframe set forward by the K-1...
hey guys - i think most of you are working on EB based visas, but maybe you can shed light on my situation. I entered the US on a fiance visa in Aug 04, married a US citizen in Sept 04 and got fingerprints / biometrics in Nov 04.
Got a notice in Sep 05 saying I-485 was transferred to the...
they usually make you wait 90 days before you can walk in and get an interim EAD. Monday the 13th will only be 91 days for you - so schedule an INFOpass appointment online to walk into your local office. It's very easy. You may have to wait online for a while, but you'll get it.
