The final approval notice is sent in an USCIS envelope.. the self-addressed envelopes remained in Washington.. probably in the dust bin..
Guys! Keep in mind, this is a two step process:
1) DOS Washington
2) USCIS Service Center
Hi Latazee,
you got a receit notice from USCIS in Nov 2005, right? The date 11/9/05 is the day when USCIS Service Center entered your I-612 into the system after they received it from DOS in Washington.. it's not the approval date.. if it hasn't changed since, your case probably wasn't...
Hi Neel!
From what read it's possible to adjust from J-1 to H-1b based on a fav. rec.
But if you are abroad and apply for an immigrant visa (mainly familiy based immigration, in my case a K-1 fiancee visa) the consulate wants to see the USCIS approval notice. The fav. rec. is completly...
Hi Latazee,
well, I assumed it because they changed the date on the case status web site.. but only the date! nothing else.. it was still saying "it will takes us 60 to 90 days to process this kind of application". So contacted the National Call center and took the option "approved...
A warning to everybody: Getting the favorable recommendation doesn't mean you are finished with the No Objection waiver. You still need to get the USCIS approval notice (= final waiver). You might be able to adjust your status with the fav. rec. but as soon as you need to do consular processing...
I was told they have a huge backlog in adjudicating the final waiver at the California Service Center.. obviously, the processing speed strongly depends on the Service Center..
Better be very carefully! Do extensive research or hire a lawyer before you leave the US! You overstayed your visa for 4 years... I don't know the details but that should entail pretty severe consequences..
The Czech Republic is part of the EU and therefore you are eligible to travel to the...
Warning
Hi there!
A warning to everybody: Getting the favorable recommendation doesn't mean you are finished with the No Objection waiver. You still need to get the USCIS approval notice (= final waiver). You might be able to adjust your status with the fav. rec. but as soon as you need to...
Hi there!
I am in the same boat: I found out that my I-612 waiver application was approved on May 09 at the USCIS CSC. But I had to call the Call Center to get this information; the case status check did not reflect the approval! The only thing they changed on the case staus web site was the...
Is anyone waiting for the final approval notice for the J-1 waiver? It seems like they stopped processing this kind of case at the California Service Center.
--------
Nov 26, 2005 DOS sent fav. rec. to USCIS CSC
Dec 14, 2005 Receipt notice from USCIS CSC
May 23, 2006 Still no final waiver...
Your case was closed at the DOS in Washington.. once they make their recommendation, they close the case and forward everything to the USCIS Service Center where the final adjudication of the waiver takes place.. USCIS still has to send you the final waiver approval notice.. good luck!
Does...
Hi Latazee!
Yes, USCIS does the final adjudication and issues the actual waiver. You might be able to adjust your status based on the favorable DOS recommendation but at some point you will need the final USCIS waiver. For instance, I am desperately waiting for my final waiver to be able to...
Hi there! You should contact DOS and have them send the fav. rec. to the Service Center.
If you have a copy of the fav. rec. send them with a cover letter (explaining the situation) to the Service Center.
Hi there!
Which ways are appropriate/available to follow-up with USCIS on a pending J-1 waiver case?
Here is my situation: DOS sent a fav. rec. (No Objection) to USCIS CSC in Nov 2005. CSC mailed a receipt notice in Dec 2005 stating it takes 60 to 90 days to process this case. After 60...
