    Filing taxes

"file taxes" and "pay taxes" are two different things, you must file tax returns even if you don't owe any taxes.

    Consolidated NSC I-485 Tracker

I guess I should have posted this a few months ago considering I got a lot of advice from this forum. My LC was filed in April 2002, EB3, evnetually got approved through the backlog reduction scheme. I485 applied in April 2007, green card got approved on 19 Sept 2007. Like most applicants in the...

    EB2 or EB3

Thanks guys, that clarifies it. We've already applied for I-140 so I guess I am stuck in the EB3 queue.

    EB2 or EB3

The job description when we filed the LC required, a BS and 4 yrs of experience. Is the EB? category determination made by BCIS or does the applicant file under a specific category.

    EB2 or EB3

My impressions is that unless you have a PhD you can't apply for EB2. A friend of mine has recently applied for PERM (EB2) based on a Masters degree and 5 yrs experience. Since I also fit that profile I am wondering if I should do the same. You can probably see from my signature that my I-140...

H-1B stamping in Mexico, is a permit really needed

Is a permit really needed? I called the Mexican consulate in Dallas and the guy I talked to said that if you have a valid US visa and you do not plan to go beyond the border region (20-25 miles) no permit/visa is required if you return the same day. Has anyone gone to Mexico for visa stamping...

    Dallas Backlog Elimination Center Tracking

Arkansas cases were transfered to the Dallas BEC in early Jan 2005, I was just wondering if anyone from Arkansas has recieved the 45 day letter yet. No one in our company has gotten one yet, as per our lawyer. Arkansas was previously on Jul 2001, and I believe they transfered all case upto Jan...

    Arkansas Labor

The name says it all doesn't it. RIR/LC march 2002, no movement in SESA. They were stuck a long time in April due to the high volume of applicants, doesn't look like anyone is working on these anymore. lc-2002

I am stuck in a slow SESA, my employer has offices and similar job openings in a different state with a much faster SESA and regional DOL. Is it possible for me to file a second LC with the same employer for the same job title but in a different state for a future job. Ofcourse the plan is to...

    LC question and changing states

As long as we are talking about hypothetical situations. Is there any way for me to file my GC application through the Chicago office while still working in my present office in Arkansas, same company. I remember reading somewhere that one can file a GC application for joining a certain position...

    LC question and changing states

My LC has been stuck in the state SWA/SESA for the last two years and they are still processing May 2001 for RIR. Is it possible for me to transfer to the Chicago office of my company for the same position and title and transfer my application to the Chicago office (since their processing times...

LCA and H-1B six years expiring

With the way things are going these days, I am not sure I will even have the LC approved from the SWA. Does the one year limit on the LC application apply irrespective of where the application is pending at, or does it have to be in the regional office for over a year. Thanks for your reply.

LCA and H-1B six years expiring

I have heard varying stories on this. My employer has filed RIR for my GC processing at the state in March 2002, the six year limit on my H-1B will expire in May 2005. Where do I need to stand at that point in order to apply for an extension of H-1B. My understanding was that I need to have...
