Well approval is also dependent on name check so the current dates does not really matter....if you are stuck with name check like I was even though my dates were current for a long time (oct 6th PD).....i got approved only now.....so its really not in USCIS's hands....more like FBI needs to...

Well you cannot moonlight until your final year of training and that too only some programs allow it really....if he is saying she can go on H1B....I am assuming she has already done her licensure exams if not then she has no choice but to go on EAD.....The ONLY real advantage of going on EAD is...

You can go on EAD and tell your spouse to go on an H1B.....I just say that because it kinda gives you options to fall back on something in the unlikely case something untoward happens to your 485 status.....if you both are on an EAD then both of you go stat out of status the day it gets...

I dont have the card yet just the approval e-mail..:D..so still keeping my fingers crossed since I changed my address recently....even though I have confirmed the change many times....I am still a bit apprehensive....but baby steps are always steps....:cool:

Got the approval e-mail today for my 485. This is amazing. The wait was a little over a year but it seems minute as compared to the time some others have waited here and I thank my stars and my wonderful lawyer (I know sounds like an oxymoron but its true) for making this possible.....:D...

Why does she need to sit at home for 3-4 years before entering residency???? If she gets accepted by a program willing to sponsor an H1 then she can theoretically start as soon as she comes to the US....is there any stipulation that you need to be on H4 for a certain number of years??? :confused:

You cannot use H1B and EAD concurrently.....PERIOD. You use EAD and you lsoe your H1 status immediately. Anyone wanna chime in?
