My wife entered the US on April 2001 and she filed for political asylum on November 2003. Both my wife and I had a valid H1-B visa before we applied for asylum.

Our attorney requested a Refugee Travel Permit on the I-131 form. The I-131 form indicates that the form must be sent to the USCIS Nebraska Service Center. I am not sure if that is the office where our attorney sent the request.
