    We had a good interview! Just received the approval letter on Saturday, should get the card soon. Phew, finally we can put all the papers away for a while and get on with life! Thanks to all you guys for the tips on proper filing!!!!!

    NYC vs NJ -- is NJ processing time faster? Thanks JohnnyCash! It's good to know that, because my husband's EAC is expiring next week so he will have to stop working. Hopefully he can receive the new EAC soon.

    Where did they get married? Perhaps you could call/visit that city office and ask for a copy of the records. Or if a church performed the ceremony and has a record, try calling them for help maybe?

    NYC vs NJ -- is NJ processing time faster? Hi, just got married and filed AOS (for my husband's GC). We both work for NY companies but live just across the river in NJ. Does anyone here know if this will help us in terms of speed? It seems that NJ may have slightly faster processing time than NY?

    bring a lawyer Can you just bring a lawyer with you, or do you have to let them know in advance that you're bringing your lawyer? It might just be worth it -- I keep hearing these horror stories! hy2934 what a stressful experience! But glad it worked out for you after all!!

    income table I guess it's no big deal to mention my salary: I make $34,000 before taxes. I thought it was based on cost of living in New York city area for a household of two, but I guess it's a national average, so seems ok...
