rambela, you're right. i am being a bit cautious, too. can you let us know when you receive the physical card? i'll do the same.
am a bit confused about whether we will now receive the card or get a "card production" email from uscis.
thanks and congrats again.
update
guys,
some movement finally...i received an email saying that the permanent residence welcome notice has been mailed to me.
here's my timeline:
Filed: Oct. 2006
Biometrics: Dec. 2006
EAD, I-131 approved: Feb, 2007; Dec. 2006 respectively
Interview: Sept. 2007 (almost exactly a...
This is it!
Congratulations to all of you who have got their name checks cleared!
Looks like mine got cleared, too.
I, too, received this email:
"On December 4, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any...
question on travel
congrats, ndp125!
hope your name check gets cleared very soon. good luck!
have a question for you.
you said in your post, "I can't travel outside the country this is a bit of a bummer because I was planning to visit my country in December and going to Canada in Sept."...
question on GC thro employer pending appln
Hi Mamtashok and Franticsky,
My understanding from your posts is that you are stuck in the dreaded namecheck, and at your AOS interview, you were asked details about your GC through employer petition. Is that correct?
If so, why has the USCIS asked...
any info on namecheck?
Al,
At your Infopass, did the IO mention anything about namechecks? That people are being scheduled for interviews only after the namecheck is complete?
Thanks.
yup--it's one of the worst!
hi sakshi,
not sure if there are any july/aug '07 filers here. but you're definitely in the company of people who filed last year!
truly, this d.o. is one of the slowest.
updates
Al,
Do you have an Aug. 06 Notice Date?
According to the USCIS processing times, Wash DC D.O. is working (completing) on cases filed in Sept. 06!
as far as pregnancy goes, the civil surgeon i went to said that uscis requires you to do only those tests that do not affect your pregnancy. why don't you call your civil surgeon you plan to go to and ask him?
thanks
Thanks, LucyMO. I did file the I-693 along with I-485, I-130, I-131 and I-765.
There's no way my interview will happen before the I-693 expires.
Thanks again. Really appreciate it.
I have a question regarding the medical exam--the I-693 form. What happens if your medical exam has expired at the time of the interview? I know that the exam is valid for 1 year. Does the district office expect you to go for another medical? Obviously, that would delay the green card. Does...
1. How much does the time line depend on the DO? What gets processed in Chicago or NVC etc and what gets transferred to the local DO?
a lot depends on the local office. check out the do's in calif. and you'll see applicants there get green cards in 3-5 months. dc takes much much longer. your...
changes in Infopass
I tried to schedule an InfoPass appointment at the DC district office this morning. Looks like USCIS has reduced the number of options to schedule an InfoPass. Previously, you could speak to an IO to find the status of your case. But now, these are the only options...
Congrats, Kumar. I am curious as to how one can change district offices? I am also stuck at the Wash DC DO since last Oct. So how did you change yours to Norfolk? Please share. Thanks and good luck!
