Thanks. They have traveled while the I-130 was pending and they have never overstayed. My brother's visa is going to expire in the next few months though so I'm assuming it may actually be tough when it comes time to apply for a new visitor visa.
So I guess I'm misunderstanding the process? I got an approval for the I-130 petition and it says it was sent to the Department of State National Visa Center and that the NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petitions that need consular action. It goes on to say they will contact the...
I submitted I-130 applications for my brother and sister in March 2008. We got the approval notices in the mail today.
I know there is some paper work that needs to be done that could take a few more months.
Can my siblings travel to the US on vacation during this time? They have valid...
Hi,
My wife submitted an I-130 application for her mom and she paid $355. It was approved 6 weeks later and then she had to pay another $75 I think. Now she got a bill for about $400 for a visa fee. This is a lot more than we had expected to pay.
Does anyone know what the TOTAL cost to...
My wife I applied at the same time. We mailed our applications separately, but on the same day. We had our fingerprints and interview on the same day and at the same time (one right after the other). She had her oath about 5-6 weeks after me though. I took 5 1/2 months from start to finish...
Your post is a bit confusing, but it sounds as though you live/reside in Canada and cross in to the US each morning to work in the US and return to Canada each night. Is that correct?
If that is the case, I don't see how you can claim to reside in the US for 5 days of each week.
Also, you...
I don't have any input, but I'm surprised you didn't keep a copy of your N-400. I keep PDF versions of any and all documents I send in to the Government (and most other institutions). I would suggest everyone do the same. If not a PDF, at least a photocopy.

I agree. Also, the whole process is not a quick one. Even if you can get citizenship as quickly as I did last year in 5 months, it's still 5 MONTHS. Waiting 2-3 extra days to be extra safe is not going to make that much of a difference.
You need to submit an I-130 form. The cost is $355 per application. I recently submitted applications for my brother and sister, but as "usaimmigration" mentioned, it'll take a long time
I don't know if this helps or not, but my wife had requested a name change on her N-400 application and everything including her oath letter had the original name she used as part of the application.
Her naturalization certificate had the correct name though.
Also, at the oath, we were...
