We bought in June 09, using EAD and 485 receipt for legal status proof. It wasn't a cake-walk finding a lender/under-writer while in AOS, but if you look around you do find few that are willing to work with you.
Yes
That would be the worst case scenario. When you get NOID/RFE and you are unemployed at that time - providing EVL (Employment Verification Letter) would be tough (nearly impossible) with AC21 eligibility.
AFAIK if you get RFE/NOID, you *must* provide the requested documents within the...
Yes you can work with a new company using EAD in a same or similar job as your pending GC application.
here is what I would do:
1. Find a job on EAD or H1 ASAP, and be prepared to file AC21. Take anything that comes your way. I wouldn't worry too much about keeping H1 status, remember most...
If your 485 is approved, then why are you thinking about EAD and AP? The EAD and AP you filed are not valid even if they get approved. Fee that you paid for EAD/AP- it is down the USCIS drain
Look for your GC in the mail - and enjoy!
In case if you end up renewing twice - when you file for extension between July 1 - Aug 28 - you can also ask for adding anytime that you spent outside US to that period. For instance if you traveled outside US 2 times - 1 month each in duration - then you ask for those 2 months to be added to...
here is my take on the source of the rumor: if you check the poster's PD in signature which is EB2 Sep 2005, and forward movement of 1.5 years will make him/her current :)
this of course assuming he/she falls under India EB2.
FP/Biometrics on saturday?
I got FP appointment on Nov 17th, which is a Saturday. This being a government office, I was surprised to get an appointment for Saturday. Is this normal? or should I call up USCIS to confirm that it is actually on Nov 17th Saturday?
If anyone has done FP on a...
Lucky you!
I would say work for the company that sponsored for at-least another 3 months, this way you had worked for them for 6 months after approval. Another option would be if they let you go, instead of you resigning, then you should be able to take a new job and still cover your bases.
If you are planning to stay in US beyond June 2008 without filing H1 extension, then you should have filed 485 on or before that. Filing 140 alone does not give you valid status after the H1 expiration. Beyond June 2008, you would still be able to get H1 extension up to whatever period is left...
You should have the original 485 receipt with you.
Here is how it went for me:
Spoke with one of the attorney's of the law firm that filed my 485, and he was of the opinion that the original needs to be with law firm, and sent me the copies. Then I managed to talk to the legal assistant who...
Per my attorney's office: When you are traveling on stamped H Visa and you don't have AP or do not intent to use AP, then you should also carry your 485 receipt in original with you.
