HI guys:
following euqstion:
let's say you have your GC and continue to work in the US for 2-3 years, and then you would decide to work for a couple of years abroad.
Would you lose your GC?
I know that if you are out of the country for over 6 months you need to ask for a special reentry...
Hi,
I have heard different things, regarding how long to stay in US once received GC. Is there such a dateline?
If so, I guess there would be not a problem to travel freely in the immediate time after GC approved?

Thanks!
I think I understand.
Just to make sure: once you have the GC you can forget about an expiered H1B in your passport; and you can simply travel in and out of the US with your passport and your GC. From what you guys said here I also do not need to go to the embassy in my home country...
Thanks!

What is HR standing for? What is form I-9? Where do I get it from?
Thanks!

Hey guys,
question: I have currently an H1B visa, but applied for GC with I-485.
Once the GC would get issued, is there anything one would have to do?
Is there something like a registration or something?
Or do you simply can use that GC as your passport and let your H1B expire and just...
Hi,
I submitted my I-485 (I-140 approved as EB1EA) to TSC 6 weeks ago and I just received the appointment for the biometric data.
Does this mean that I passed the name check, and that I should expect this to go quickly from now onwards?
Thanks!

Thanks, but I guess I need an EAd only after my H1B visa expires (what's EAD standing for?).
I am also wondering if I can do something to keep the H1B time preserved while I am waiting for the I-485.
Worst case scenario: let's say the I-485 process would take two years and my H1B visa expires...
Hi guys,
I am currently on my H1b visa, which will expire in less than two years. I get yearly extensions on it.
I got my I-140 approved based on EB1-EA, and I have now submitted mu I-485 petition. I was told that it is very uncertain how long this may take, and USCIS siad it could even take...
thanks, that's encouraging!
Could you please line out hopw this process will go on:
I believe I will have to wait until I get a notice asking to go and get my fingerprints done? I have seen there are code 2 and code 3. Does this mean you have to get them twice, or how does this work? I got...
Hi guys,
I assume the whole issue of having the I-485 received before July is only of importance for people from countries were retrogression applies. I am from Europe, and I think there is no retrogression for European countries as of now.
Is that correct that it does not matter for...
Confgrats!
Do you think that the I-485 petition is quicker for people that half a self=petitoned I-140 e.g. EB1-EA than for people who have an employer based immigration petition?

Hi guys,
I got my I-140 EB1-EA approved in June and immediately send my I-485 application to TSC (arrived there around June 27th 2007). I called USCIS and all they could tell me was that this could take now 1-2 years, which horrifies me. Does it really take so long? Anything I could do to...
Hi guys,
thanks!
Yes, I had submitted my I-485 application after my I-140 EB1-EA was approved to TSC on June 23 via priority mail, and it was received around June 27th 2007.
From the response above I assume I may receive the receipt notice on 7/20/2007. I had called USCIS and all they told...
