My I130 for F4 category was approved in March, 2009 and transferred to NVC. How long does NVC take to process the case?

Hi
I was just curious if there is any activity in your case as its been a while ... I will greatly appreciate to post your experiences . Thanks in advance

September 2009...what time frame before we hear any thing
From NVC I only got the receipt showing priority date nothing else...are we supposed to get any thing else..

From my F3 case which I understand will work the same way, you won’t hear anything until approximately a year before they expect your priority date to be current. Then they will contact for ds260 and document submission etc. so I’d guess you probably have another year or so before there will be contact.

Will immigration lawyer better once I hear from NVC or rest of the process I can do at my own ....what you think

I have no idea of the details of your case, but unless there are complications I can’t see why you’d need to use a lawyer. It’s just filling out forms and collecting the appropriate civil documents. The interview should pretty much be a formality once all those are done.

filling for my brother ... F4 category ... I have no idea what and how to do these govt forms ... if I mess up more delay will occur ... just am cautious

It’s literally just filling in factual information about your family members, but if you want to pay a lawyer to do it for you - understanding that you would have to give them all the information in the first place - that’s your call.

PS there has been no “delay” until now, just normal timing, and they do give you like a year to get the forms done…

Yes. All the info and all the steps in the process is on the dos website. Link below, I suggest you read through it all

Basically you’ll need DS260s for the beneficiaries, they will need to get civil documents from their country of birth/residence (birth and marriage certificates, police records etc) and you’ll need to file an affidavit of support

Ok thanks ... its been a while I have done any follow up on my bro case ... I think I need to see some video or or stuff as how to get DS 260...processed. Immigration attorney are not economical ...

? Its online. Read the instructions. You fill in the answers (actually your brother should be doing it but you can do for him) and hit submit. Honestly i think you’re making a much bigger deal of this than needs be the case. Literally millions of people have done this unaided.

My brother case is with NVC for almost 12 years Priority date is Sep 2009 any one with same dates pl write any updates as what will be next. Appreciate hearing

I think it is now taking 18+ years for ALL COUNTRIES category. My relatives' priority date is June 2011 and there is no movement at all. Does anyone have a better prediction?
