Today on my way to school I was giving my first ticket a week before my Citizen Oath Ceremony. I made the mistake of boarding the bus through the middle door instead of the front. I explained to them I am a student and I was simply trying to get to school. Also I usually pay with Apple Pay ONMY but they still stopped me and asked for my information.

They said because this is my first time getting stopped it will just be a warning, that I won’t be fine, to wait up to three days and call a number in the back of the ticket for further information on what to do. Also the NYCT officer said I will receive letter in the mail in 15 days stating it was a warning and that the next offense will lead to a fine.

I am extremely worried this will affect me some how since for the N-445 form that I must bring the day of my ceremony question 4 ask "Since your interview, have you been arrested, cited, charged, indicted, convicted, fined, or imprisoned for breaking or violating any law or ordinance, including traffic violations?

Citation is a fine or appear in court
theyre not going to not let you naturalize because you got a warning for going in the wrong door of the bus
thank you, I really hope they don’t. I will stay truthful and put yes and explain the situation to them and show them the ticket

What does the ticket say on it?
On top it says ‘Transit Adjudication Bureau’ it has a violation number, my information, the officer information. A check saying that the violation was that I ‘entered without payment’ also they didn’t put a fine just a check on ‘fare evasion’ and on the back says “fare evasion only, first offense- warning, no fine, second offense $100 fine… etc”
